OBITUARY:
Ronald E. Akers, 58, of Terre Haute died peacefully at his sister’s home surrounded by family on Tuesday March 10, 2015. He was born in Sullivan, IN on June 19, 1956 to Omar L. Akers and Phyllis Deakins Akers Aleshire.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Dale Aleshire of Terre Haute; two brothers, Rick Akers and his wife Chrece of Harold, CA and Terre Akers of Farmersburg; a sister, Cindi Bignell and her husband Carey of Terre Haute; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Ronald love to talk on his CB radio and listen to his police scanner. He enjoyed riding his scooter around town and speaking to everyone he would meet.
Funeral services will be conducted on 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 in the Funeral Home.
