Pearl M. Sobek, 91, Muscoda, died on Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at Oakwood Village in Madison. Pearl was born Sept. 23, 1906, in Muscoda, the daughter of Jacob and Laura (Gottschall) Delp. She graduated from Platteville Normal and taught school at Pulaski before she was married. She married Otto J. Sobek on July 3, 1928, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1981. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church where she was active in many church organizations. She is survived by three children. Patricia Butcher, Madison, Joan (Douglas) Butcher, Middleton. and John Sobek, Hartland; nine grandchildren, Rebecca (William) Olson, Deborah (Gregory) Thurk, David, Matthew and Jacob Sobek, James and Brian Butcher, Stacey (Thomas) Shorter, and Darcey (fiancé, Mark Becker) Butcher; five great-grandchildren, Jason and Andrew Olson, Aaron and Amanda Thurk and Allison Shorter; a brother, Glenn (Elsie) Delp, Highland; several nieces and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Donald Butcher on June 27, 1994; and a brother, Floyd and his wife, Olive Delp. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the St. Peters Lutheran Church, Muscoda with Rev. Donald G. Fehlauer officiating and burial in the Muscoda Cemetery. The Godager Funeral Home in Muscoda was in charge of arrangements.
