Matilde Borrego Amescua, 77, a longtime Warden resident, passed away at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake with her family at her side.

Matilde was born on February 8, 1934 in Coah., Monclova, Mexico. She married Rafael Amescua on September 11, 1960 and enjoyed 50 wonderful years with him. Matilde was employed at Skone & Conners in Warden for over 25 years.

Matilde is survived by her husband, Rafael, of Warden; her daughter Martha Troncoso of Spokane; grandson Ricky (Rita) Troncoso of Marina, CA; great-granddaughter Alina Troncoso of San Juan Bautista, CA; sister Consuelo Acevedo of Warden; sister Irene Cervantes of Yakima; and brother Oscar Borrego of Warden.

Matilde was a kind, gentle woman who was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved traveling with her husband and spending time with family. She loved and served the Lord and will truly be missed by all.

Funeral services were held March 8, 2011 at Kayser's Chapel with Deacon Armando Escamilla officiating. Arrangements in care of Kayser's Chapel & Crematory.
