Doris A. Van Horn, 84, of Palmer Township, PA, passed away Monday, February 23, 2015 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, in Southampton, NJ. Born November 8, 1930, in Easton, PA, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Lena Anglemyer Abel. Her husband of 42 years, John Van Horn, died November 13, 1992. She graduated from Wilson High School. Doris last worked as a private duty caregiver. Previously, she was a housekeeping supervisor for the former Leader Nursing Home, Palmer Township. Doris loved God, our country, cardinals and potato chips. Doris was a longtime member of Bethel Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Jean A. Oberman and her husband Rich, of Southampton, NJ and April D. Stehle and her husband Wayne, of Walnutport, PA; a son, Gary W. Van Horn, of Wind Gap, PA; a brother, Glenn Abel, of Easton; eight grandchildren, Tim Van Horn and his wife Tonya, Gentry, Hannah and Karis Oberman, Nesha Parker Brown and her husband Robert, Vashta Parker Lichtsteiner and her husband David, Landon Parker and his wife Jamie, and Niah Parker and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Maezie, Max, Arianna, Kaedyn, Maison and Indiana. She was predeceased by a son, John J. Van Horn, a brother, Stanley Abel and two granddaughters, Jennifer Van Horn and Aria Oberman Ruggles.
