Mr. Brotherson was born on November 3, 1911 in Mt. Pleasant to Hans Christian and Charlotte Simonsen Brotherson.

He married Edna Thomas on August 15, 1939 in Nephi. The marriage was solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple.

He was a retired farmer and livestock rancher.

Survivors include his wife; sons, daughter, Grant Leon, Salt Lake City; Terry Ralph, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Jerry (Jean) Beck of Fountain Green; five grandchildren, sisters, Mrs. George (Olive) Coulson, Fresno, California and Mrs. Ray (Louise) Jensen of Tifton, Georgia.
