Norwich - After a wearying illness which had lasted over seven months and which was borne with truly Christian fortitude, came the ending on Monday morning of the earthly life of Aaron D. Gates, a beloved member and deacon of the Baptist Church of Oxford. Mr. Gates was born in the year of 1825, in the town of Norwich, at which place his brother, Henry A. Gates, still resides. A sister, Mrs. William Henry Wheeler, also survives him. The funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m., at the residence of Gerritt H. Wheeler, where the deceased made his home. The interment will be made in Mt. Hope cemetery, Norwich.
