Age 72, son of the late Antonio and Mary Grace Caruso DiGiorgio. A longtime resident of Erie, Joseph was a teacher with the Erie School District, having taught at Diehl, Jones, Roosevelt and Strong Vincent. He started the radio and TV Programs for the School District. Following teaching, he owned Human Resource Service for 25 years, and for the past 11 years, he worked as a career specialist with Career Concepts. A lover of jazz music, Joe was host of the radio program "Jazz with Joe" for 35 years on WQLN radio. He also served on the Board of Jazz for Erie. He was active in many community organizations. He was a member and lector at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.

Besides his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Joseph DiGiorgio.

Joe is survived by his wife, Mary Licato DiGiorgio, along with two daughters, Denise Sanfratello and Doreen Welch (John), all of Erie; brother Dr. Anthony DiGiorgio (Gale), of Rock Hill, S.C.; a granddaughter; sister-in-law, Rose Martini; and a brother-in-law, Joseph Licato; and nephews and nieces.
