Mrs. Daniel (Almira) McCarthy, 91, former resident of the Kinsman area, passed away at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet at 7:45 p.m. Thursday. She had been admitted to the hospital a few hours earlier.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Church in Seneca with the Rev. Edmond Blough officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Ransom, Ill.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home in Seneca after 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. McCarthy was born in Verona, Ill. on Aug. 29, 1875, the daughter of Edward and Julia Cashen Hanley. She was united in marriage to Daniel McCarthy on Jan. 28, 1903 in Verona. She lived in the Kinsman area all of her life until two and one half years ago when she made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Aelred McCarthy of Crest Hill, Ill.
Surviving are two sons, Aelred of Crest Hill and Elbert of Tarzana, Calif., six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Ida Hollenbeck of Westchester, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and three sisters.
