"Mathilda" was born in Långared, Alingsås parish, daughter of Sven Jacobsson and Anna Christina Svensdotter. Mathilda immigrated at Boston on 4 Sep 1901 aboard the "SS Ivernia" out of Liverpool (traveling with sister Charlotte, bound for sister Alma in Chicago). In Chicago she married Alfred Gustafson on 16 Oct 1903. They settled in Fruitland Twp, Muskegon Co, Mich., where their five children were born:
1) Lillie Alfreda Charlotte Gustafson-Clawson (1904 - 1989) #68519492
2) Edith Mathilda Christina Gustafson-Scholtz (1905 - 2003)
