A Kingwood native, Mrs. Elsie M. Kerns, 63, of Route 1, died Sunday evening at University Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Ira 0. and Ellen Wilson Martin. She was a member of Laurel Point Methodist Church and was Sunday School superintendent. She belonged to her church's WSCS and was a member of the Laurel Point Farm Women's Club. Survivors include her husband, Ernest Rex Kerns; one daughter, Elsie Ann Blake of Pinole, CA; two sons, Ernest E. (Buster) Kerns and Earl H. Kerns of Morgantown Route 1; two brothers, Darrell 0. Martin of Alamagorda, NM and Earl Martin of Lakeworth, FL; three sisters, Mrs. Lucelle Cooley of Lake Worth, FL, Mrs. Eleon Moore of Birmingham, MI, and Mrs. Elaine Weeseer of Akron, OH; nine grandchildren. One son is deceased.
