Mrs. Martha N. Hammons, 79, died Tuesday morning at nine o'clock at the home of her son, Wyly A. Hammons, on South Pine street following an illness that extended over several weeks.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Church of Christ, conducted by Rev. O'Dowd. Burial was in Erick cemetery under the direction of D. G. Fatheree,undertaker.
Miss Martha N. Brock was born in Bledsoe County, Tennessee, October 22nd, 1850. She obeyed the gospel in 1867 at the age of 17 years and was faithful until the time of her death. She was married to Noah Hammons in 1868 and to this union was born eleven children. The husband and three children preceeded her in death. Of the immediate family she is survived by the following: John P., of Lone Wolf; James M., Goree, Texas; William T., Oklahoma City; Joseph E., Borger; Delbert B., Duke, Oklahoma; and Wyly A., of this city, sons and Mesdames Alice Isabell of Blanchard, Oklahoma and Tillie Elliott of California, daughters.
