John Thomas Hall died Monday, March 16, 2015 at his residence in Raymond. He was 73.
He lived most of his life in Hinds Co. but had lived in Meridian from 1968 to 1975 before he returned to Hinds Co.

John started his law enforcement career with the Vicksburg Police Dept., moving to the Hinds Co. Sheriff's dept. as a jailer, then moving to the Clinton Police Dept. and then to the Alcohol Beverage Control, serving 38 years and retiring in 2000.

John was very interested in the Civil War and collecting Civil War memorabilia. He was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. His great joy in life was helping other people, loving his grandchildren and his dog, Teagan. He was one of the last Southern Gentlemen. John was a 32nd degree Master Mason for most of his life and served in the Army and Air National Guard for 14 years. He loved his God and now is free from pain and is in Heaven now.

John was preceded in death by his parents,, Hiram Jackson and Rosa Lee Stevens Hall; his aunt Lillie White Stevens; his uncle, Samuel Leonard Stevens; and his son, Steven Thomas Hall.

John is survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, Marie White Hall of Raymond; his sons, Jeffrey Todd Hall of Raymond and David Ryan (Nikki) Hall of Florence and his six grandchildren,,, Brianna Hall of Mobile, AL, Austin Hall of Mobile, Mackenzie Hall of Clinton, Aiden Hall of Bolton, Casey Bulman of Florence and Zoey Hall of Florence.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 19, 2015 at the Utica Christian Church with Rev. Kenneth Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Robison Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica from 5:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Wednesday and at the church from 1:00 P.M. Thursday until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hicks, Bobby Sharpe, Frank Dillard, Ben Byrd, David White, and Ryan Kelly.

Memorials may be made to the Webster Animal Shelter, 525 Post Oak Rd. Madison, MS 39110 or the animal shelter of your choice.
