On Monday, April 5, at the Baptist parsonage in Newark, Rev. J. C. Brookins officiating, occurred the marriage of Miss Helena Burnett and Gilbert W. Darling both of this village.

Helena Darling
Mrs. Helena Burnett Darling of 105 Orchard Street, Webster, died Tuesday, September 10, 1968. She was 84 years of age.

Mrs. Darling, a long-time resident of the Webster area, was born on Lake Road on the site where the Episcopal Mission Church is currently located.

In her early years Mrs. Darling worked in the Webster Basket Factory. However, during most of her working life she was employed by the Webster Canning and Preserving Company. In later years she was with the Monroe Frozen Foods until her retirement at the age of 77.

Beginning in 1950, a 17-year “Study of Twins” was made by Columbia University in which Mrs. Darling and her late twin brother, Howard Burnett, were the subjects.

The Rev. William Newson officiated at the funeral services Friday at 2:00 p.m. in the Tinklepaugh & Scott Funeral Home. Burial was at Webster Rural Cemetery.

Mrs. Darling is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Arden of Webster; three sons, Gilbert of Rochester, Woodrow of Ohio, and Vincent of Webster; as sister, Mrs. Arthur (Constance) Stadt of Webster; two brothers, Hiram and Byron Burnett of Rochester; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
