Frank Relaford was born in Center, Colorado to Grubie and Felicia Relaford, the third of six brothers.
He grew up in Arizona, came to San Diego to work in the aircraft industry and served in the Army Signal Corps in Europe during World War II.
Frank married Dorothy Emerson on Thanksgiving Day 1946, and they settled in Casa de Oro to raise their four children.
They have been members of Foothills United Methodist Church for almost 50 years and El Cajon Valley Gem & Mineral Society for 30.
Frank was employed at Bank of America for 37 years and worked with Glenn Mitchel Realty after retirement.
Frank and Dorothy enjoyed traveling the country visiting friends and collecting rocks, photos, and memories.
Frank is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Emerson Relaford; children Jayne Relaford Brown (Janice Chernekoff), Nancy Relaford, Judith Haberstroh (Mark), and Bruce Relaford (Margo); and grandchildren Morgan, Laurel, and Julian Brown; Josephine Relaford-Doyle; and Emily, Megan, Felicity, and Thomas Haberstroh.
Predeceased by brothers Earnest Riley, Hugh, Homer, Roy, and Guy Relaford.
The family deeply appreciates the staff of Arbor Hills Nursing Center who provided skilled and loving care in Frank's final months.
Celebration of Life will be at Foothills United Methodist Church, 4031 Avocado Blvd., La Mesa, Friday, April 4th, at 4:00 p.m. with Reception following.
