David was born Sept. 21, 1948, to Andrew and Verna Irene (Bruce) Bathory in Youngstown.
He graduated from Hubbard High School and worked for Dean Foods in Sharpsville. David was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sharpsville. David was an avid golfer and bowler, and liked photography, fishing, and Wednesday morning bible studies. He also enjoyed following football and baseball, and most of all, spending time with his daughter.
David is survived by his daughter, Kristie Lynn Bathory-Aley; his fiancé, Marilyn Schmaling of Sharpsville; former wife, Martha M. (Shook) Bathory; and brother Bob (Karen) Bathory of Masury. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, a nephew, and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Bathory Jr.; his mother, Verna Irene Bathory; and his brother, Donald Bathory.
Burial will take place at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, with full military honors, offered by the West Middlesex VFW, Farrell VFW, and Sharon American Legion.
