Pauline C. Kiger, 82, of Waynesburg R.D. 6, former Greene County Treasurer and Clerk of Courts, died Saturday, November 29, 1980, in the home of her son, Gerald M. Kiger of Lancaster. She had been ill for several months.

She was born July 7, 1898, in Waynesburg a daughter of J. C. and Mary Cole.

Mrs. Kiger was county treasurer from 1956 to 1960 and clerk of courts from 1960 to 1964, the year she retired. She had been very active in the affairs of the Greene County Democratic Women's Club and the county Democratic Party. She was a member of the Pursley Baptist Church near Oak Forest and the Greene County Business and Professional Women's Club. She was also a member of East Franklin Grange No. 1709, the Lady Greene Rebekah Club No. 385 and the FHC Club. For several years ahe worked as a teacher in county schools. Mrs. Kiger spent her entire life in the Waynesburg community.

She was married twice. Her first husband was Charles E. Kiger and her second husband was Harry Kiger. Both are deceased.

Surviving, in addition to her son Gerald are a foster son, J. Roland West of Columbia, S.C.; a sister, Mrs. Georgia Caine of Waynesburg; and a granddaughter.
