Vancouver police are investigating the homicide of a 48-year-old man.
Just before 6 p.m. Friday, Vancouver Police Department officials responded to a report of an assault in an apartment in the 1000 block of West 12th Street.
The person who called 9-1-1 told police that there was a man inside the residence who was unconscious. Once officers arrived at the apartment, they found Michael J. Ellis, 48, dead inside. The apartment was also determined to be Ellis' residence.
Police released few other details about how Ellis died, but a press release said that they are investigating the death as a homicide "based upon evidence observed at the scene..."
