OKLAHOMA — Vera Carmignani Alexander passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She was born at in Galveston, June 22, 1949, to Dr. Amedeo Carmignani and Mary Jane Goodpasture Bode. She attended the University of Texas and Oklahoma Arts and Sciences University.

She was an art teacher for Sallisaw High School. Vera, always a passionate artist, inspired her students with her creativity and enthusiasm.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cori Carmignani; grandparents, Corinto and Theresa Carmignani, of Galveston, and Ian and Edith McDonald, of Austin.

She is survived by her children, Cori and Christina, of Sallisaw; brother, Todd Bode of Austin; sister, Georgianne Harms of Chicago; aunts Anna Marie Carmignani and Doris McKenzie Henkhaus of Galveston.

Memorial services will be held in Sallisaw on Saturday and Austin at a later date.
