Mrs. Marion Gaynell (Gay) Ellison was born April 18, 1929 in Hillsville, VA, the youngest of nine children to Jasper McGrady and Mary Dickerson McGrady.
She was married Robert Lee Ellison on November 1, 1947 and the couple had two children.
She passed away on March 14, 2015 in Hickory, NC.
Gaye is survived by her children, Mary Kandace Hovis and Robert Lee Ellison, Jr.;
her grandchildren Patrick Shane Mangus, Erin Page Mangus, Joshua McGrady Ellison, Mary Katherine Bader, Adam Ellison Willis and Joseph Cameron Ellison; and her great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be conducted on March 18, 2015 at 11:00am at Spencer Funeral Home Chapel, 824 North Main St. Mount Airy, NC,
burial will follow in the Alderman Cemetery, Hillsville, VA.
Family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:00am prior to the funeral service.
