He worked in the mills, was a hod carrier, and an automobile mechanic. Ned was a master gunsmith. He was a lifetime Golden Eagle Member of the NRA. He loved fishing at Little Grass Valley Lake. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his bounty. He was an Avid NASCAR fan being partial to #48.
Survivors include his 3 children: Kathy Mill, Jeffery Benham, & Lynn Michaelis; 2 grandsons, Jarrod & Joel Michaelis (whom he doted on); and 2 great grandsons, Aiden & Austin Michaelis; and his canine companion Rocky, all of Olivehurst. He is also survived by two brothers, David R. Benham of OK, Donald E. Benham of FL, and a sister Dewey W. Keeter of AR.
He is preceded in death by his parents David and Julia Benham; his wife Joyce Marie Corbin Benham; a daughter Cynthia Colleen; 3 sisters, Ada Burse, Oma Courtney, Susan Scarberry; and 2 brothers, Lloyd Benham and Robert Benham.
Visitation will be held from 5PM-8PM Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at Lakeside Colonial Chapel. Funeral Services will also be held at Lakeside Colonial Chapel, Marysville, CA, Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 1PM, with Pastor Chris Madsen of Praise Chapel officiating. Graveside service to follow at Sierra View Memorial Park.
