Born Anthony John Grzeszkowski, Bundy Brief played major and minor league baseball. His career began with the West Michigan League's Traverse City Resorters in 1910, and from 1912 to 1917, he played for the major league St. Louis Browns (hitting .310 in 1912), Chicago White Sox (1915), and the Pittsburgh Pirates (1917). From 1918 to 1928, he played for the minor league Kansas City Blues and Milwaukee Brewers, driving in 191 RBI's, and 166 runs scored in 1921, and hitting 42 home runs in 1922. He retired with a career batting average of .331. A creamey in Traverse City named an ice cream treat after him, called the "Home Run Bundy."
