Lewis Wendal Anderson Hadley was the son of John William Anderson and Ila Jane Ray Anderson Hadley Dillenbeck. His step-father, Asa William Hadley, raised Lewis and his brother Raymond Ellis Anderson Hadley as his own sons and they took his surname. After his step-father's death in 1954, Lewis Hadley's mother was remarried to Floyd Dillenbeck.

Lewis Hadley of Eugene passed away March 22, 2015, at the age of 92, from age related health issues. He was a caring and loving man, devoted to his family, friends and his Lord. He was a tireless worker that got up every morning with a zest for life and a smile on his face.

Lewis was born September 14, 1922 in Eugene, Oregon to Asa and Ila Hadley. He graduated from Eugene High School in 1939. After school Lewis joined the Conservation Corps and worked as a company Clerk in several of the CCC camps in Oregon. When WWII broke out Lewis Joined the US Navy and became a Sonar Tech.

At the end of his Navy Service he returned to Eugene. He met his wife of 63 years, Hannah Darlene Hadley, while working at Chase Gardens. In 1965 Lewis and Hannah adopted a son, Kevin and in 1967 a daughter, Janet.

Lewis worked for and retired from EWEB after 27 years as a Meter Reader. He and Hannah continued with their Register Guard paper route in the River Road area until 2007, more than 38 years of service, when health issues forced them to stop.

Lewis and Darlene are members of the Day Spring Fellowship Church and enjoyed their time spent at aerobics at River Road Parks.

Lewis is survived by his wife Hannah, daughter Janet Woodworth, son-in-law Kevin Woodworth, grandson Zachary and many close cousins. He was preceded in death by his son Kevin who passed away in 1989.

Interment at Rest Haven Memorial Park with Military Honors.
