Shirley Ann Benge Barr, age 54, passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at her residence with her loving family by her side. A native of McDowell County, Shirley was born April 23, 1960 and was a daughter of the late Barbara Joe Freeman Brown and Gene “Parkie” Benge.
Surviving Shirley are three children: Kelly Gibson, John Barr and Barbara Barr; sister, Kathy Benge, brother, Joe Benge and five grandchildren: Brooklyn, Daniel and Jonathan Mosteller, Chance Ferguson and Aryan Gibson..
The family will have a private service at a later date
