PLAINVILLE — Irvin F. Turnbull, 89, Plainville, died Saturday, May 11, 1996, at Rooks County Nursing Home, Plainville.

Mr. Turnbull was born Aug. 15, 1906, in Rooks County. He was a farmer and then, a rural mail carrier.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Billy and Joe; and a daughter, Norma Jean.

Survivors include his wife, Montie of Plainville; four sons, Jack of Plainville, Jim of Hoisington, Dick of Salina, and Ron of Stockton; five daughters, Marguerette Hulse of Minden, La., Patricia Toelkes of Minden, La., Jane Drotts of Topeka, Karrol Kirk of Hutchinson and Linda Normandin of Damar; a half-brother, George of Jetmore; a half sister, Wanda Bane of Fort Worth, Texas; 26 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church, Stockton, the Revs. Tim Ault-Duell and Troy Buss officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m today, (Sunday, May 12) at Smith-Moore-Overlease Funeral Home, 723 N. First, Stockton 67669. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Rooks County.

Memorials may be made to Rooks County Nursing Home or the charity of the donor's choice.
