Bobby Gene Abney, 53, of Ewing, passed away Thursday March 26, 2015 at Kenton Pointe Care Center.

Bobby Gene was born December 8, 1961 in Winchester to Judy Whitt Abney of Winchester, KY and the late Roy Abney.

Bobby Gene was a truck driver of six years for Bourbon Limestone until his illness caused him to retire. He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying motorcycle riding, rabbit and deer hunting, as well as working on the farm. He attended The Church of God.

Survivors include his mother; his wife, April Owens Abney; son, Nathan Gene (Felicia Patterson) Abney of Ripley, OH; daughter, Felicia Star Abney of Morrow, OH; grandchildren, Hunter Lee Abney and Alyssa Fultz; brothers, Wendell (Bethany) Abney of Blanchester, OH and Richard Abney (D.R. McDowell) of Lexington, KY; sister, Vickie (Danny) Perkins of Flemingsburg; nephews, Kyle Abney, Chad Gibson, and Kevin Abney; niece, Danielle Hendrix; great nephew, Chace Gibson; and great niece, Leianna Abney.

Bobby Gene was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services will be 1PM Monday March 30, 2015 at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. Jessie Hickerson and Pastor Hubert Eugene Benton officiating. Burial will follow in May’s Lick Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 – 8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

John Conie, Tony Conie, Anthony Fulton Bill McDaniel, Rick Mobley and Gene Benton will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family of Bobby Gene Abney.
