Mr. White held large business interested in Alexandria and in northern Minnesota. For thirteen years he has been a member of the firm of Atwood Bros. & White and was one of the incorporators of that institution. He has been a large stockholder and a director in the Farmers National Bank since its organization. He was also heavily interested in the banks at Warroad and Spooner in the extreme northern part of Minnesota. The deceased for years had been a member of the local lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was also a member of the St. Cloud lodge No 516 B. P. O. E. When the remains arrived in Alexandria Friday afternoon they were met at the Great Northern station by the members of the former lodge in a body and escorted to the Letson house.
The deceased leaves two children to mourn his death, Dr. Carl M. White, of Lindsay, Cal.; and Mrs. Nina Wayte, of Exeter, Cal.; both of whom, with Mrs. White, arrived Sunday to attend the funeral.
The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock from the Congregational church, Dr. E. E. Buell in charge. Rev. A. A. Secord conducted the services. The church was filled with the old acquaintances and neighbors, comrades of the O. A. R. and the members of the local Odd Fellows lodge, who attended in a body. The honorary pallbearers were Geo. G. S. Campbell, L. J. Brown, J. B. Cowing, N. E. Nelson, O. J. Robards, Dr. H. J. Boyd. The active bearers were R. W. McCaskey, H. G. Atwood, Louis Ginther, Andrew Jacobson, R. Brough, J. W. Anderson.
