Dorothy Lou Prince McGinnis, age 77, of Douglasville, passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She was born June 8, 1937 in Douglasville to the late H.C. Prince and Lela Mae Brookshire Prince. She worked for Burnett Elementary School as a cafeteria worker and was Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Homer McGinnis, sisters: Lucille Stephens, Betty Baggett and Burtlee Parsons.
Survivors are her son and daughter-in-law: Terry and Anita McGinnis of Palmetto; son and fiance’, Perry McGinnis and Monica Cork-Stewart of Douglasville; sisters and brother-in-law: Edna and Chuck Bright of Temple, Pauline Gargile of McDonough and Rilla Fortner of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law: Claude and Judy Prince of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren: Kerri McGinnis of Newnan, Derek and Amber McGinnis of Temple, Travis McGinnis of Douglasville, Courtney Lamlonaire of Temple, Kaula and Brad Boemanns of Douglasville; six great grandchildren, 11 nieces and 19 nephews.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church, 1651 Burnt Hickory Road, Douglasville, GA 30134 with Rev. Oral Lyons and Rev. Terry Marbut officiating. The casket will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM.
Interment will follow in the Douglasville City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Richard Parson, Wayne Elrod, David McGinnis, Timmy Cochran, Tony Baggett and Jack Fortner.
The family will receive friends, Friday, March 27, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
