She had lived most of her life in the North Georgia area and was of the Baptist faith. She was employed with the Walker County Board of Education as a Bus Attendant for more than 12 years and her passion in life was always caring for others, especially helping the disabled in any way she could. She loved going to car shows with her husband, enjoyed traveling especially going on vacations and spent most of her anniversaries in Gatlinburg with the love of her life.
She was preceded in death by her father, Pete Campbell and step-father, Dick Walden.
Survivor include her loving husband of more than 25 years, John Alexander of Flintstone, GA; mother, Dorothy Walden of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; 5 children and spouses, Chris & (Donna) Alexander of Chattanooga, TN, Mandie & (Danny) Hunter of Walker County, GA, Kelly & (Dewayne) Strickland of Chattanooga, TN, Holly & (Marcus) Donohoo and Jennifer & (Max) Barnett all of Flintstone, GA; two brothers & sister-in-law, Chuck & (Angie) Campbell of Fort Oglethorpe, GA and Wayne Walden of Rossville, GA; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie & (Ron) Guinn of Chattanooga, TN, Cindy Walden White of Chattanooga Valley and Louise & (Ron) Taylor of Chattanooga, TN; 15 grandchildren, Adam Strickland, Haley Minshew, Joannie Foster, Ethan Busby, Camerone Tucker, Alysa Howard, Brooklyn Hunter, Jonathan Alexander, Colton Alexander, Justin Porter, Easton Porter, Hunter Norman, Brandi Strickland, Whitney Strickland and T'Aisha Donohoo; two great grandchildren, Lexi Jobe and Kaylee Porter and numerous extended family, friends, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Bro. Wayne Madaris officiating. Burial will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will begin receiving friends after 4 p.m. Thursday, all day Friday and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
