Mary Ann Maulding, Daughter of Presley and Elizabeth (Echols) Maulding was born near Delafield, ILL OCT-1-1849 and departed this life at the home of her son, Joseph E. Rawls in McLeansboro NOV-15-1930

In the year 1873 she was united in marriage with George Rawls. They settled in the community known as Burnt Hill in Dahlgren Township, where these two hardy people spent practically their entire life. Her husband departed this life NOV-15-1921, exactly nine years before her. To the above were born 4 children; Emily, who died in infancy; Anna, died at the age of 20; J.E. Rawls; and J.P. Rawls both survive.

She professed her faith in Christ at a very early age and united with Blooming Grove Baptist Church where she remained a member these many years. She was a devoted mother, a true companion, and a good christian. She has left to her sons the inheritance of a strong character which is to be highly appreciated. She also leaves many realtives and friends who mourn her going.

Funeral services were held at Blooming Grove Church NOV-16-1930. Eld. J.H. Aleen assisted by Eld. John B. and C.W. Maulding. The Blooming Grove choir rendered beautiful music also the McLeansboro Quartet which was much appreciated by the family. Interment was in the Blooming Grove Cemetery.
