LOUIE B. ABNEY
Louie B. Abney, World war veteran, died at Veterans hospital No. 48, in Atlanta, Ga., Wednesday
afternoon at 6:25 o'clock, after an illness of nine weeks. He had been critically ill since Tuesday. He
was born in Girard, Ala., April 16, 1891, being the son of Wallace and Walter Morris Abney.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Jessie Abney, he is survived by two sons, Louie, Jr., and James Abney,
both of Columbus; his mother, Mrs. Walter Morris, of Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Macie Tensley, of
Columbus, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 o'clock at the residence, 113 Twenty-third
street, with Rev. B. F. House officiating. Interment will be in Girard cemetery.
Pallbearers will be J. H. Shepherd, G. N. Shepherd, E. W. Hughes, H. E. Elliott, J. D. Milford and H. C.
Webster.
Full military honors will be accorded the deceased by a firing squad from Fort Benning, following
which taps will be sounded by a bugler. per: Lois Hottinger
