Lyndal Roland Baumgardner, 75, of Springfield died at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Hospital.

He was born March 18, 1917, in Naples, the son of Stanley Eugene and Marie Ellis Baumgardner. He married Mary Kay McClelland in 1981. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine Baggs Baumgardner, in 1971. Mr. Baumgardner was employed as a systems analyst by the state Department of Transportation for more than 35 years. He was a member of the Chess Club and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, Mary Kay; two daughters, Lynda Fein of Springfield and Patricia Walker of Winnipeg, Canada; five stepchildren; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; eight step grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle and Jack, both of Springfield; several nieces and nephews.


Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bisch and Son Funeral Home, with Dr. Nars Palomar officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
