Mrs. Knox was born in Union on April 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Horace G. Haney and Clara Bell James Haney. She was a graduate of Kelly Pinckney High School. Mrs. Knox was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, the Senior Adult Sunday School Class and the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are a daughter, Frances K. Burton of Anderson, three sons, Kenneth "Cooter" Knox and wife Marie, Jack David Knox and wife Mary and Dennis "Sput" Knox, all of Union; a brother, Hoyt Haney of Union; eight grandchildren, Justin Knox, Chris Knox, Teresa Knox, Tim Knox, Rhonda Johnson, Ashley Knox, Brittany Knox and Daniel Knox; four greatgrandchildren, Hagan Johnson, Austin Knox, Alexis Knox, and Brooke Johnson; and three special care givers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Bethlehem United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Keith Sweatt and the Rev. Larry Hyder. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Tim Knox, Justin Knox, Warren Johnson, Dan Hogsed, David Becknell and William Scales.
Members of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class are asked to sit in a group.
The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Saturday night from 7 until 9 and will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Sunday to await the hour of service.
The family is at the home, 968 Jonesville-Lockhart Highway, Union.
