BRAWLEY – Elizabeth L. “Betty,” 85, Johnstown, died Nov. 10, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 20, 1929, in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Gabor) Brusko. Preceded in death by husband of 50 years, Ernest J. Brawley, in 2007; sister, Mary Barker; and brother, Andrew “Bizz” Brusko. Survived by children, David J., married to the former Karen Koscelniak, Sayre, Pa.; Patricia L., married to Thomas Walsh, Johnstown; Linda M., married to Donald Foust, Johnstown; Carol M., married to Barry Lemmert, St. Marys; and Dennis M., married to the former Gina Socey, Johnstown; grandchildren, Patrick Walsh; Nichole Lysick, and husband, A.J.; Anthony Foust, and wife, Meghan (Flannery); William Foust; Sara Lemmert; Grace and Ella Brawley; and Zachary Brawley; and great-grandson, Anthony Flannery Foust. Also survived by brothers, John, Indianapolis, Ind.; Frank Jr., and wife, Jane (Schuck), Mundys Corner; and Edward, and wife, Ellie (Tutsock), Portage; sister, Emma Moore, Indianapolis, Ind.; and brother-in-law, Robert Brawley, and wife, Helen (Shaffer), Johnstown. Betty was a graduate of Nanty Glo High School and Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a registered nurse from the former Mercy Hospital. Betty also was an active charter member of St. Clement Catholic Church. Her faith and her faith community played a large role in her life, as did her dedication to nursing and her family. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Picking-Treece-Bennett Mortuary Inc., 921 Menoher Blvd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Clement Catholic Church, the Rev. William E. Rosenbaum. Entombment, Grandview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Community Foundation For The Alleghenies for the benefit of the Elizabeth L.
