She was born June 28, 1922 in Red Hill, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie Tipton; and all of her siblings.
Doris was a member of Watkins United Methodist Church, where she was very active. She also enjoyed her volunteer work in Community Theater. She was extremely creative and enjoyed various opportunities to share her skills.
She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, along with many others who called her "Mimi".
A service to celebrate Doris's life will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Watkins United Methodist Church, 9800 Westport Rd. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Arch L. Heady and Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Johnson City, TN, on Monday.
In lieu of customary expressions, donations may be given to Watkins United Methodist Church.
