MAMIE SUE HUNDLEY HARRIS, 87, PASSED away on Wednesday, March 26, 2015 at her residence. Services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel at 12 p.m. with Rev. Larry Pope and Pastor Daniel Absher. The family visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 11:15 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Lakeview Memorial Park.Mamie was born in Schoolfield, VA to the late William and Nannie Williard Hundley. She was a former employee of Cone Mills. She attended Brown Wesleyan Church, Pleasant Garden Pentecostal Holiness Church, and loved to watch Joel Osteen. Mamie had a true "green thumb" and loved to grow things and gardening was her favorite pastime.Mamie was a true survivor, having endured two breast cancer events, quintuple bypass heart surgery and one leg amputation. She lost her battle with ovarian cancer. She was always smiling and loving and was a great inspiration to all who knew her, especially the women in her life. She was a giving and welcoming person and had great strength. Mamie loved God and gospel music. She will truly be missed.She was predeceased by her parents and two daughters, Darlene Jenkins and Christine Harris; grandson Phillip Etchison; and thirteen sisters and brothers. She leaved to cherish her memory three daughters, Diane Etchison and husband Rufus, Patricia Pearson and Carolyn Harris; eight grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel is assisting the Harris family.
