Lawrence was proud to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1944-1946 during which time he received the Purple Heart. Lawrence moved to Michigan after WWII, in 1946.
He retired from Chrysler Automotive and was a member of the American Legion Post #300 in Lake City, Mi. He enjoyed hunting and especially cherished his grandchildren.
Lawrence is survived by his four children; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Keith Harrison Baker, a beloved granddaughter, his parents and twin sister Florence Baker Price.
