Amanda D. Melton was born September 22, 1982, in Claremore, OK., to John Marble and Joan Smith. She passed from this life on Monday, February 21, 2005 at the age of 22 years, 4 months, and 29 days.

As a young girl, Amanda lived in and attended school in Jay, Oklahoma. She also had lived in the Chouteau and Pryor areas. On November 10, 2001, in Salina, Oklahoma, Amanda Smith and Ken Melton were united in marriage.

Amanda loved being with her children. She also liked to crochet and take long walks. Amanda was a fun person that enjoyed playing games. Most of all, Amanda loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, daughter, and friend.

Amanda is survived by: her husband: Kenneth Melton of the home; 4 daughters: Shanna Smith; Abigail Melton; Katelynn Melton; and Rhonda Melton; her mother: Joan Ray and husband Gene of Alabama; Her father: John Marble of Jay, Oklahoma; 3 sisters: Cathy Tavera of Alabama; Joanie Tavera of Alabama; Patricia Richter of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Grandmother: Gladys Dutton of Jay, Oklahoma; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 25, 2005, at the Cornerstone Outreach Center. Pastor John Kiddy officiated with interment following at the New Home Cemetery near Peggs, Oklahoma. Services were entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
