Hollis E. Smith, 84, of Amarillo died Friday, March 4, 2005.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd., with Dwayne Hollis of Trinity Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Bridgeport. He had lived in Amarillo since 1939. Mr. Smith worked as a pipeline superintendent for Diamond Shamrock. He retired in 1976 after 30 years of service.
He served with the Navy on the U.S. LST 17 in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a member of Paramount Terrace Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian Smith, in September 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan Cole-Smith of Amarillo; a son, Michael Lee Smith and wife, Vicky, of Amarillo; a sister, Priscilla Sandlin of Farmington, N.M.; four grandchildren, Myles Williams, Beck Williams, Christopher Smith and Kimberily Smith; and five great-grandchildren, Copeland Williams, Devin Smith, Quinton Smith, Oasis Williams and Serenity Williams.
