ROY O. BOONE
DIED MAY 27TH

Roy O. Boone, former Kalona barber died at his home in Carson, Washington on Wednesday, May 27th, 1964 following a heart attack at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 1 day.

The son of Alonzo (Colonel) and Mary Boone, he was born in Loup City, Nebraska June 26, 1890. He moved to Kalona with his parents and operated a barber shop for a number of years.

He was married to the former Dorothea Adams, who survives. Other survivors include 5 children: Jack, James, Craig, Shirley, Mrs. F. Berry, all of Portland, Oregon and Audrey, Mrs. R. W. Wright, Wescott, Oregon. Thirty grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. One son, Max and one grandson, Jefferson Boone preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held June 1 at the Hamilton-Mylan Funeral home in Vancouver with the Rev. Paul Nesmith officiating. Interment was made in the Park Hill cemetery, Vancouver, Washington.
