Billy G. Rae, age 79, residing in Owasso, OK, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2015. Billy was born in Valera, Coleman County, Texas on August 6, 1935, to George and Jessie Rae. He was very proud of his Scottish heritage and told stories of how his ancestor George Rae came over from Scotland in 1876 and raised sheep in the Coleman County, Texas and the Ozona Texas areas, using border collies that he imported from Scotland. During his life he worked in road construction as a heavy equipment operator; street maintenance for the city of Odessa, Texas; oil field pipe inspector; machinist; independent welder; and finally as a maintenance worker for Pied Piper Feed Mills in Hamlin, Texas. He jokingly would call himself a “SOB” – and made sure all knew this means “sweet old Bill”. His motto “a good deed is sufficient into itself” fits him very well as he always made sure the needs of others were considered. He spent most of his time in his later years sitting in the front yard soaking up the sunshine. His friendly smile and wave to passers-by will be missed by neighbors, friends, and the postman who always brought his much anticipated news from friends and family.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Ila Faye Rae, and a grandchild, Elliott Woodson Rae.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Royanne and Denzil Pullen, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, Alton and Charla Rae; grandchildren, Tabitha and husband Steven Meisenheimer, Jeremy and wife Jacqueline Pullen; and great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Landyn, and Brooklyn.
