BARBARA J. PALILLO
Barbara J. Palillo, 66, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at her residence surrounded by loved ones while under the care of Niagara Hospice.
Born in Niagara Falls, NY, Barbara was a lifelong resident and attended local schools.
She was a licensed cosmetologist and also worked at the Como Restaurant. Most recently, Barbara was employed by the New York State Parks Department at their Cave of the Winds attraction at Niagara Falls.
She was a longtime devout parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, where she found great comfort in attending Mass and other services.
Barbara also enjoyed traveling, reading and arts and crafts in her leisure time.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband the former Mayor Jacob A. Palillo, and mother Lillian “June” (D’Amore) Vespa.
She is survived by her fiancé Bruce Burridge, one son Matthew R. Porter of Niagara Falls, NY; two grandchildren, Matthew Porter and Adrianna Porter; one brother Robert (Carol) Vespa of New Port Richey, FL; her nephews and niece, Jonathan (Sarah) Vespa, Jamie Vespa and Kyle Vespa; one aunt Gloria Zulke, her cousins, Carol (Paul) Stankovich, Richard (late Sharon) DeMita, Debra (Craig) Simpson and Linda (Richard) O’Grady as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.
There will be no prior visitation. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
