GARDINER -- Chester “Topper” M. Adams, 62, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 4, 2015. He was born January 19, 1953 in Gardiner, the son of Mayron and Katherine (Rose) Adams.
Topper grew up in Gardiner and attended Gardiner High School. He excelled in football, basketball and baseball. He worked in various construction trades throughout the years.
Topper enjoyed hunting, fishing, and would take every opportunity to wet a line or head into the woods and hunt. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was one of a kind, you always knew where you stood with Top. He loved laughing and joking, some of his best lines were “me you and the moonlight” and “you ole crow”.
He was predeceased by his father Mayron, his sister Jackie and nephew David, JR as well as many close friends.
Topper is survived by his mother Katherine Adams, a brother David Adams and his wife Deborah of West Gardiner, his sister Diane Adams of Randolph, a son Cy Adams and his wife Angela of West Gardiner and their two children, Kyle and Aimee, a daughter Sharon Stanley and her significant other Tim Gordon of Pittston, and their daughters Alyssa, Kasey, and Kali.
At his request there will be no services.
A gathering will be held at The Maine House 119 Water Street Hallowell, ME on March 21 from 1 to 3pm
Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner
