Full birth and death dates are from ME v.r., stone only had years given. Death rec says that William T Carr was born in Carroll, NH to Jacob and Emeline (Hathaway), but it is actually the town in Penobscot County, Maine (here in 1850-60 censuses). After service in the 27th ME Inf Vol (10/17 Sept '62 - 17 July, 1863), he reinlisted into the 32nd ME Inf as a sergt. on 3 Mar, 1864 (joined 29 Feb), but was mustered out on 12 Dec, 1864 when the 32nd was consolidated into the 31st and the surplus officers were mustered out.
He married Frances W Parker, sister of Horace B Parker, who served with Carr in the 27th.
