Jim came to Tulsa from Missouri in a covered wagon when he was just a young boy. He was an accomplished musician and had played with many well-known western group, including Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys. Jim played for many years and dedicated his music to the Lord and often played for gospel radio. He worked as a welder for many years and will be remembered by many Westsiders for the welding shop which he operated from his home on S. Union. He had also retired from Porcelain Steel where he had worked as a Welder.
