Mrs. Ida Bauer, 77, who had been residing at the St. Mary Home for the Aged, Manitowoc, died Monday morning at the Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. She had been in failing health the past year.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Clement Kern will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born Ida Coutley in 1876 in Shoto and a year later the family moved to Five Corners, near Branch. She was married in 1893 to Peter Bauer and they located in the town of Manitowoc Rapids. Her husband died in 1943, two months after their golden wedding. Mrs. Bauer made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Nick Kreil, of 315 North Sixth St., Manitowoc for eight years moving to St. Mary Home recently.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Kreil, Mrs. Louis Marshek, and Mrs. Gordon Tuschl, all of Manitowoc; four sons, Edward, Reinhart, and Raymond of Manitowoc and Victor of Rt. 4, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. Nick Bauer of Manitowoc and Mrs. Nick Kleman, of Branch;13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home from Tuesday noon until time of services. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday by the Christian Mothers Society, of which she was a member.
