Willia Farley Deeds

OAK HILL — Willia Farley Deeds, 86, of Oak Hill, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2012, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, following a long illness.

Born May 21, 1925, at Princeton, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Joseph Prince and Orie Lake Farley of Nimitz, W.Va.

She was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. In her more active years she enjoyed cooking, decorating, sewing and travel.

Willia was employed by Lilly’s Crown Jewelers as a diamond consultant and salesperson for many years. She cheerfully enjoyed her vocation.

The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to all the staff and volunteers at Bowers Hospice House. Deana says, “special thanks to all the caregivers that loved my Nana in her later years.”

Her husband, Robert Lee Deeds, preceded her in death as did her sister and brother-in-law, Clara and Howard Via.

Willia was a wonderful wife, and a loving mother and grandmother. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, JoAnn Stevenson of Oak Hill, and granddaughter, Deana Lynn Bennett and her husband, Charles Romeo of Oak Hill.

Also surviving are one brother, Jack O. Farley of Ohio, as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Willia was especially fond of her nephew, Mathew Farley, who was always the first to extend prayer with her.

Private funeral services were held on Monday, January 16, 2012, at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Ken Souder officiating. Burial was at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
