George Ford was born about 1820 in Hardin County, Kentucky. He died before 1900 in Kentucky . He is buried in Mt. Sherman Cemetery without a headstone.

He was married 5 times:
Elizabeth Skaggs in 1840
Mary E. Wathen in Oct 1851
Narcissa Davis 23 Dec 1855 (dau of William P. Davis and Minerva ?)
Betsy Ann Davis 19 Aug 1863 (dau of John Davis and Nancy Bewley)
Ida Myrtle Houston on 27 Oct 1897 (dau of John B. Houston and Rebecca Thompson)

GEORGE FORD married Elizabeth Skaggs in Green County in 1840. He was born in Hardin County, Kentucky in about 1820. He lived in the Brush Creek area of Green County before moving to the Mt. Sherman area of LaRue County. He married to Mary E. Wathen in Green County in October of 1851. He was married a third time to Narcissa Davis, daughter of William P. Davis, in December of 1855.
He enrolled in the Union Army at age 42 on September 28, 1861 at Camp Sherman. He was a private in Company C, 15th Ky. Infantry. He was described as 5 ft. 9 inches tall, blue eyes, light hair, and fair skin. He was wounded at Stone Mountain, Tennessee (near Murfreesboro) on December 31, 1862. He received a gunshot wound in his left thigh near the knee. Due to his wound, he was discharged on May 3, 1863 .
He married to Betsy Ann Davis in August of 1863. George filed for a pension in January of 1865 and received a six dollar a month pension for debility caused by his war wound. Betsy Ann Ford and Elizabeth Ford, his first and fourth wives, have tombstones in the Mt. Sherman cemetery. I suspect he is buried there near them.
His pension file is at the VA office in Louisville .

In the 1850 Census for Green County, Kentucky , George Ford was 30 and his wife, Elizabeth, 30. their children were: Mary Ford, 7; Eliza Ford, 6; William Ford, 4; Harrison Ford, 2
