Son of Walter Emmitt Banks and Lorene Ethel Banks. Husband of Gloria Ardis Banks married 29 Sept 1956 in
Monterey, and mother of Mark, Brent, Matthew and John.

After Gloria was killed in an automobile accident in Modesto in 1989 he remarried to Rosemary Davis who had two sons from a previous marriage, Michelle, Julie and Kristen, and moved to Seattle in 1994.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951 to 1955.
