Jesse Finley, formerly a prominent citizen of this township, died at his home in Kansas City on the 12th, and the body was brought here for burial Friday. Mrs. Finley died a year, ago last August. Both were born in Morgan county, Ohio, where they were married, and they came to Missouri in 1880. Mr. Finley married a sister of the late P. J. Stanbery and Mr. Stanbery married a sister to Mr. Finley. . All four died within the last four years and all are sleeping in the Stanbery lot in the Belton cemetery. Rev. F. O. Moore, of the M. B. church preached the four funeral discourses. Mr. Finley, was seventy-seven years of age. Six children survive him: Mrs. Chiles, Mrs. Hattie Chandler, Stanbery Finley, Howard Finley, Charles Finley, Mrs. Nellie Erikson. One son. Jay Finley, died last spring. Mr. Finley was a good man. The sympathy of the community is with his sorrowing family In its bereavement.

Jesse Guy Finley, 77 years old, night watchman for the Parker-Washington Company, 2309-17 Pennsylvania Avenue, died last night at the German Hospital. Mr. Finley lived at 2826 Olive Street. He was born in Ohio. He is survived by three sons, Charles E., Jay J., and C. S. Finley, and three daughters, Mrs. Solomon Childs and Mrs. Julius A Erickson, all of this city, and Mrs. D. L. Chalmer[sic] of Topeka, Kas.

He is buried in the same plot as his wife Eunice Stanbery Finley, his half-sister Rebecca Finley Stanbery, and his brother-in-law Perley J. Stanbery.
