TIDWELL, EARL EUGENE, age 86, of Birmingham, AL, died Saturday, May, 7, 2005. He was retired from James B. Clow Corporation. He was a member of Ketona Baptist Church. Mr. Tidwell was a member of Masonic Dolcito Lodge #596, a Shriner, a charter member of Double OO Buck Hunting Club, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Ira and Eunice Tidwell; brother, William B. Tidwell; sister, Beatrice Tidwell; son, James Loyd Tidwell; and grandchild, Jamie Tidwell. Survivors include his wife, Irene Wallace Tidwell; sons, William E. Tidwell (Glennis) and Larry H. Tidwell (Mary), both of Birmingham; sisters, Louise Self (Lecile), Gertrude Mahaffey and Janette Mewborn, all of Birmingham; seven grandchildren, Robert, Susan, John, Joan, Nancy, Paige and Melissa; eight great grandchildren, Tess, Liam, Savannah, Isaac, Noah, Will, Emma and Madison; numerous other family members; and his caregiver, Linda Lanier. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 9, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial with Rev. Richard Statham officiating. Burial will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 8, 2005, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice. Jefferson Memorial Trussville is directing.
